Listen Nancy Soulliard
Listen
18 by 18 inch, pastel drawing
The horse’s ears are so observant. They do far more than just listen. They tell you many things just with their ears. When they’re being ridden, they cock one ear back to listen to their rider. There's many times when out on trail that my horse has warned me of ATVs, dirt bikes, bears and other horses long before I heard them approaching just from the flick of her ears. Horses also display their hostility and aggression when they flatten their ears back. Every horseperson knows to use caution around a horse with their ears back. The more you’re around horses, you begin to learn the subtle messages the horse teaches with their ears. This piece is showing at the Grand National Art Show at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, California from April 4-12, 2008.
